Public
Engagement
In Canada, FIDA undertakes a public engagement program that includes
the publication of a quarterly newsletter, special fundraising
events, public speaking presentations and Haiti Adventure
Tours to engage the Canadian public in a meaningful discussion
of international development. FIDA is constantly layering and adding
to the depth of its public engagement program to create a dynamic,
thoughtful means of engendering discussion how Canadians can appropriately
and effectively respond to world crisis.
Our Public Engagement
program centers around creating meaningful relationships, between
Canada and Haiti, to introduce a concept of development to Canadians
that is engaging and non-paternalistic. We believe that central
to all development is the will to understand the context and people
involved. As an agency, FIDA as been praised for upholding and demonstrating
these principles throughout. Our Public Engagement efforts endeavor
to foster respe (respect), for ourselves or for others whether at
home or abroad.
If you are interested in a public presentation, or want more information about what we have available, please contact our Public Engagement program at (519) 886-9540 or email info@fida-pch.org
FIDA gratefully acknowledges the support of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) with respect to projects in Fond Baptiste and Haute St. Marc. These projects are funded on a matching 2:1basis from Canadian contributions. FIDA and its partnering agencies are most appreciative of the generous contributions from Canadian constituency.
