Money
The Haitian currency is in Gourde. The rate to USD changes regularly. Most purchases can be made in USD. If in your travel you require local currency, exchanges from USD to Gourde can be done at a local grocery store.
It is not advisable to depend on banking machines for cash. They are limited.
If you wish a safe place for your cash, documents or valuables, the guest house has a safe. Please speak to the Manager.
Tipping individual staff at the guest house is not advisable. We work as a team. If you wish to tip (and it is, of course, greatly appreciated!) please give it to the Manager who will ensure equal distribution. If staff approach you asking for money, please report it to the manager immediately.
