Here is what Ms Hiebert, the Principal of Niverville Elementary, had to say about our Boxes to Beads program!
"Involvement with FIDA through Boxes 2 Beads has been a fantastic journey for our Grade 4 Social Justice group and our school community as a whole. We started with identifying the 'why' of choosing Boxes 2 Beads as our Christmas Charity project and then moved to the practical 'how.' Grade 4 students became involved in spreading the word through designing posters and reading morning announcements. We were very pleased with the amount of recycled boxes that were handed in. As well, it was very easy to package the boxes and deliver through Greyhound Bus Lines. Once the jewelry arrived, everyone was thrilled that the recycling had become a reality in beautiful bracelets! The Grade 4 Social Justice group teamed with a teacher in selling the bracelets at noon hour and saw the excitement grow as students lined up to buy! Within four noon hours, we sold all 250 bracelets! This project is easily understood by all students who believe in recycling and enjoy helping others. The bracelets will be their memory in how they made a difference."
